Brisket

Simple basic brisket. For any day of the week. Takes only 10 minutes of your effort but 6-8 hours of slow cooker’s efforts. Dump everything in the slow cooker in the morning and you will be welcomed home with the most appetizing smell. And like most of the other dishes, we eat it twice. Just as a brisket for the dinner and roll up in tortilla the next day for lunch, you may make sandwiches as well.

You need: 

  • 2 pounds brisket
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • 1 packet onion soup (if you dont have this then salt and chopped onion works as well)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1-2 cups vegetables like baby carrots, mushrooms, celery etc.
  • 2 cups chicken/ beef stock (if you dont have this, feel free to use water. It tastes good as well)
  • 4 potatoes quartered

Method: 

Throw everything in slow cooker and set it for 8 or 12  hours. depending on when do you want to eat.
